Pour Laurent, la photo est un miroir ou une fenêtre, souvent les deux.
Né en 1972, Laurent vit à Bordeaux. Auteur photographe autodidacte, il est passionné de littérature, d’images fixes et animées. Au début des années 2000, il a écrit et réalisé plusieurs courts-métrages.
Après une carrière dans l’univers du web, il a mis ses compétences au service de la communauté en créant une webradio associative.
Après 13 ans passés à écouter et donner la parole à différents publics, il a ressenti le besoin de s’exprimer à nouveau.
En 2020, à l’aube de la cinquantaine, la crise sanitaire l’a plongé dans une longue réflexion. Il a décidé de changer de cap et d’entreprendre une démarche difficile mais nécessaire pour redonner un sens à sa vie : devenir artiste photographe professionnel.
Plutôt solitaire, il aime passer du temps en compagnie d’amis qu’il n’a jamais rencontrés. Une tribu hétéroclite où se côtoient A. Titarenko, D. Arbus, D. Lynch, A. Hitchcock, The Cure, Nick Cave et bien d’autres. Avec une affection toute particulière pour Jean Cocteau.
Très tôt, il a suivi son conseil, « Ce que le public te reproche, cultive-le, c’est toi. ».
Ses travaux ont rapidement conquis Instagram et l’intérêt du public et des professionnels (presse, concours, lieux d’expositions…). Laurent vend régulièrement ses photos en éditions limitées en France et à l’international (en direct ou via www.photobylaurent.com). Plusieurs expositions sont programmées ou en négociation pour 2023 et 2024.

Born in 1972, Laurent lives in Bordeaux. A self-taught photographer, he is passionate about literature, still and moving images. In the early 2000s, he wrote and directed several short films.
After a career in the web world, he put his skills at the service of the community by creating a non-profit webradio. After 13 years of listening and giving voice to different audiences, he felt the need to express himself again.
In 2020, at the dawn of his fifties, the pandemic plunged him into a long reflection. He decided to change course and to take a difficult but necessary step to give meaning to his life: to become a professional artist photographer.
Rather solitary, he likes to spend time in the company of friends he has never met. A heterogeneous tribe where A. Titarenko, D. Arbus, D. Lynch, A. Hitchcock, The Cure, Nick Cave and many others. With a special affection for Jean Cocteau. Very early on, he followed his advice, « What the public reproaches you for, cultivate it, that’s you ».
His work has quickly conquered Instagram and the interest of the public and professionals (press, galleries contests, festivals…). Laurent regularly sells his photos in limited editions to clients in France and worldwide ( live or online at www.photobylaurent.com). Several exhibitions are planned or under negotiation for 2023 and 2024.
